AMPUTEE HOCKEY NOMINATION/ELECTION

The members of your executive would like to announce an election for all positions on the Amputee Hockey Executive board. New faces and fresh ideas help keep organizations innovative and creative, and after 2 years as your executive, we'd like to give anyone who is interested the opportunity to step up and lead this remarkable group.

 

​​​​​​​All positions on the Executive will we open for nominations and election. These positions include President, Vice President, Treasurer, Eastern Coordinator, and Western Coordinator. We are also creating a sixth position on the Executive, Director of Social Media, which will be a non-voting position. For more information on the roles and responsibilities of the Executive Board, see below.

 

​​​​​​​The nomination period will be open from today, March 15th, until March 31st. Anyone may either volunteer to run in the election, or nominate another individual. Any nominated individual must accept the nomination before they will be included in the election choices. You can make your nominations using this email address: nominations@amputeehockey.com.

 

The election will be open from April 1st until April 21st. A link for the online election will be sent out in an email on April 1st.

The duties of the Executive positions are listed below.

PRESIDENT

The President shall preside at all meetings of the Organiztion and of the Executive Board, with the right to vote on all Committees. He/she shall also hold the deciding vote in the case(s) where there is a tied vote that deadlocks the Committee(s). He/she shall perform such duties as are necessary and incidental to the office of the President or as may be prescribed by the Executive Board. The President shall communicate all activities of the Organization to the President-elect and facilitate involvement and assistance with all aspects of the Presidency. This position will hold full voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.

VICE PRESIDENT

The Vice-President, in the absence or disability of the President, shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President, and shall perform such other duties as the President or the Executive Board shall prescribe. This position will hold full voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.

TREASURER

Treasurer shall supervise and be responsible for the financial affairs of the Organization, and shall make a financial report at the time of the annual report or when called upon by the President. The financial records of the Organization shall at all times be subject to verification and inspection by the Executive Board, and shall be audited annually as required by the Act. This position will hold full voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.

EASTERN COORDINATOR

Eastern Coordinator shall, communicate all activities of the Organization in the eastern region of Canada (Ontario, Quebec, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador). This position will hold full voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.

WESTERN COORDINATOR

Western Coordinator shall, communicate all activities of the Organization in the western region of Canada (Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan and Yukon). This position will hold full voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.

DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL MEDIA

Director of Social Media shall be responsible for managing and delegating all social media activities of the Organization, as directed by the Executive Board. These responsibilities shall include management of the Organization's web site, email, and social media feeds as deemed useful and necessary by the Executive Board. This position shall hold no voting rights within the Organization and Executive Board.
